07•29•05 - Friday, 6:29 p.m. CLAWING AT THE SURFACE It has been awhile since I have posted anything - sorry for my absence, but it hasn't been done out of neglect, but rather out of a lack of time... the project has been moving along at a steady clip for a couple of months and between my work to secure business needs for the film and checking in with the art team to approve and go over new ideas, I have just not had the time to sit and update the site. There are a TON of new designs, but unfortunately, (or should I say fortunately?) they are mostly final or near-final designs which I don't want to post yet, because they will spoil the surprise of the film... I will go through the work and see if there are some that I don't mind sharing. The whole script has been story boarded and Ron Lemen will be starting in on a dozen or so production paintings to help define the mood and palette of the film. I have a scene to post now - HANGING TREE is the only scene that I have decided to reveal to the general public... enjoy, and feel free to make COMMENTS if you have any thoughts after reading it. I will be getting together with the sculptors to begin the prosthetic effects sculpting pretty soon - so our lead actors will have to get life casts taken of their heads and bodies for them to begin sculpting from... VERY EXCITING! I will be sure to document the process with photos and video in the "Filming" section!!! . . . FILM OF THE WEEK: Well, I've seen LOTS of movies since my last entry, but none of them stand out as extremely special... FANTASTIC 4 - *yawn* - CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY - *yawn* - WAR OF THE WORLDS eh...
